Eight years ago, her parents left on an urgent mission and never returned. Now she lives with her brilliant uncle Shadrack, the foremost cartologer in Boston, who teaches her everything that he knows.

Then Shadrack is kidnapped. Sophia must search for him with the help of Theo, a refugee from the West. Little does she know that their lives are in as much danger as her uncle's.
